Deck Your Halls with Smooth-Operating, Space-Saving Sliding Closet Doors

(HIT) – Every square foot of space in your home counts. So why not create more space with sliding door hardware? It’s the perfect solution for hallways and other narrow areas where standard swinging doors get in your way. Because swinging doors are so common, homeowners don’t give them much thought—except when bumping into an ajar door blocking the hallway or having trouble accessing closet contents in foyers or small rooms that can’t comfortably accommodate a swinging door’s radius.

Using innovative Johnson sliding door, pocket door or wall-mount door hardware, you can better utilize hallway space throughout your home, regaining the 10 to 14 sq. ft. of floor space every swinging door consumes. Of course, you can use practically any door design and material, from rustic weathered wood to the sleek ultra-modern aesthetics of colorful, glass-lite doors. The possibilities are wide open.

A tried-and-true hallway space-saver, Johnson’s 2200F Sliding Bypass Door Hardware offers an easy-to-install solution. Bypass hardware lets doors slide smoothly past each other across an opening. Ensuring smooth, effortless operation, the 2200F features a precision-extruded, paintable aluminum track with fascia to hide gaps above doors. Hangers accommodate 1 3/8” thick doors weighing up to 75 lbs. each.

The unique “Hi-Lite” design of Johnson’s 2200F track conceals any blemishes resulting from heavy, frequent use. Convex track rails provide one contact point between track and wheel for low roll resistance. Easily adjustable, the hangers include 7/8” diameter machine-turned wheels and three-point locking plates. To prevent binding, pivoting nylon guide posts stay parallel to the door.

Johnson Hardware also offers space-saving Pocket Door Hardware, which opens up hallways and other areas where swinging doors impinge on floor space. Creating streamlined looks, enduring Pocket Door Hardware uses a recessed pocket frame to store door panels when open. To close it, you just slide the doors out of the frame and across the opening. Pocket Door Hardware supports doors up to 400 lbs. each.

For areas where it’s not structurally feasible to install pocket doors, Johnson provides Wall Mount Sliding “Barn Door” Hardware, a practical and easy-to-install solution. Rugged Wall Mount Hardware supports doors weighing 125-400 lbs. Models are available with an exposed track or built-in fascia. The track can also be covered with a matching valance to complement the door and trim.

Johnson’s sliding door hardware makes home improvements easy, freeing up space where you need it most.
