Therma-Tru Meets Marketplace Demand for Taller Doors

(HIT) – MAUMEE, OHIO – For many builders and homeowners, “bigger is better” – at least as far as the entry door is concerned. To meet the demands for taller doors that make a grand statement for a home’s entry, Therma-Tru has introduced a variety of new 7’0″ and 8’0″ door options for 2015.

Ideal for front entries and patio openings, the timeless look of the 3/4-lite 1-panel door style combines the beauty and performance of flushed-glazed glass in a smooth, paintable surface. Featuring flush-glazed construction, glass is built directly into the door to deliver clean lines and a seamless appearance with up to a 16 percent wider daylight opening than conventional lite frames.

Now in the 8’0″ height to complement the statement on a grand entrance with high ceilings, this on-trend door has broad appeal to suit many home styles. Available with Low-E or clear glass, and a variety of grille grid patterns, this fiberglass door is easily customizable. Divided lite options include simulated divided lites (SDLs), grilles between glass (GBGs) and removable wood grilles. SDLs and GBGs can also be combined to create a more authentic divided lite look.

Smooth-Star® and Traditions 8’0″ 1/2-Lite 2-Panel Door Styles

The new Smooth-Star and Traditions 8’0″ doors allow builders and remodelers to capitalize on trends toward taller ceiling heights – beyond the front doorway. More than 200 new 1/2-lite 2-panel door style options are now available for use in several locations throughout the home, including front, side and patio door applications. Available in 2’8″, 2’10” and 3’0″ widths to fill a variety of openings, these doors can be matched up with sidelites and transoms to create a unique entry into the home.

Smooth-Star® 7’0″ Door Options

Designed to fit more openings, the Smooth-Star portfolio has expanded to include the popular 2-panel square top and 6-panel door styles in the 7’0″ height. These doors can be combined with decorative and specialty glass to create a wide range of looks to fit virtually any home style. Divided lite options include simulated divided lites, grilles between glass, removable wood grilles and fixed grilles. Combined, the new fiberglass door options allow for more than 350 new Smooth-Star door and glass combinations in the 7’0″ height.

Dependable Quality

All of the new taller Smooth-Star door options from Therma-Tru are backed by a full-system lifetime limited warranty and include ENERGY STAR® qualified options. The doors are also eligible for the Tru-Defense® Rider.*
